Who says you can’t enjoy your patio in the fall? We here at Luxury Landscape Supply do not believe this outdoor space isn’t reserved for summer only. You can continue to enjoy the great outdoors during the season that offers cool nights and some of the best star-gazing during the year. As we approach fall, make a few changes to your patio space to get it ready for s’mores, a relaxing glass of wine, and romantic cuddling under a blanket; the latter reserved until after the kids go to bed.
Think Cozy
For many, fall is their favorite time of year. The weather finally cools down after the hot and humid summer, but it isn’t so cold that you can’t enjoy it. Once the sun sets in the fall, however, things can get chilly, so think cozy when it comes to your outdoor space. If you don’t already have an outdoor fireplace or fire pit, build one. We’ve got the supplies you need to do it. Consider fire bowls or lanterns, too.
Upgrade Your Furniture, or at Least the Accessories
Your outdoor patio furniture might need a fall upgrade, as well. Put your plastic loungers in the garage and opt for cushioned patio furniture until the spring. This will keep you warmer on the cool, fall nights. You can also give your furniture a cozier feel with plenty of big outdoor pillows. Purchase blankets designed for outdoor use, and don’t forget the covers to protect your furniture when you’re not using it.
Add to the Outdoor Kitchen
If all you have is a barbecue outdoors, why not invest in that outdoor kitchen you’ve always dreamt of? If you already have an outdoor kitchen, clean it up and get it ready for fall because you’ll still use it. Cooler weather means warmer meals, such as homemade pizza from the pizza oven or a hearty stew cooked over the fire pit. And, you absolutely cannot forget the s’mores and hot chocolate.
Light Things Up
Finally, you know how beautiful all the lights are at Disney World once it gets dark? Why not turn your patio into Disney World? It gets darker sooner in the fall, and this gives you the perfect opportunity to create a gorgeous patio space filled with lights. String lights all along with your patio cover and in the foliage. Use tiki lights along walkways. You can even hang oriental lanterns from your patio covering.
