Gather Your Supplies
The first thing that you need to do is to gather your supplies. You need to get your favorite chocolate bar, the marshmallows, the graham crackers, and the long skewers so you can toast the marshmallows. Bring everything outside once you have built the fire in the fire pit and it is roaring. You don’t want to bring the supplies into the summer heat before you are ready to use them. This can prematurely melt the chocolate.
Make Sure Everyone Is Safe
Next, make sure that everyone is safe. The skewers should be long enough so that everyone can maintain a safe distance from the roaring fire. Everyone should be dressed in tight clothing that is made from a natural fiber. You do not want to wear clothing that is flammable. Make sure that you have a way to douse the fire quickly close by, and keep an eye on the children as they toast their marshmallows. Toast the marshmallows for the toddlers yourself.
Toast the Marshmallow
Impale a large marshmallow with the tip of the skewer and hold it over the flames. Roll the skewer so that the marshmallow is getting heat on all sides. Once the marshmallow is brown and crispy all around its exterior, pull it away from the fire.

Take a chunk of the chocolate bar that is big enough to cover one half of a graham cracker. With some help, take the toasted marshmallow and set it on top of the chocolate. Grab the other half of the graham cracker and set it on top of the marshmallow. Squeeze the graham crackers slightly together and pull the marshmallow off of the skewer.
